Ok the plan is as follows:
Every one arrives at the club for 11am.
11-11.30 set up the boards and terrain.
11.30-12. set up armies.
12-6 play the game. (small break for some lunch inbetween, if needed)
We have the hall booked until 6pm with the option to have it for longer, so we will see how we all feel when time is up.

The hall itself it costing us around £60 to hire for the day and if we want it for longer it will be extra i am not sure how much that is, but basically i am paying the fee for the hall and if any one wants to contribute some money they are welcome.
Well i think to keep things simple we should play a standard mission (objectives), standard apoc setup, on a 12 x 8 board.
Two force organisation charts, with big things (super heavies etc) taking up one heavy support slot. If you want to use the apoc data sheets you can use them provided you pay the points on the sheet, same applies for forge world stuff. Just make sure you have a copy of the sheets/rules.
2500 points per player.
should be straight foward.

i dont think you should have more than 5 foot width for an apocalpyse game, just out of personal experience it generally takes to long, you should do 4 foot wifth with a longer length so you can spread out

But wont the board be just as small when you create the no mans land using the standard setup?

I think 8 foot would be a bit to wide, what about 16' x 6' thats four tables next to each other on the long edge we should be able to reach but it still gives the feel of having a bigger battlefield, I think 4' would be a bit to small.
P.S. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!

Well, that was fun. No, seriously, it actually was fun. I've been involved in a lot of big games in the past but they rarely work out as well as this one did. Ash had a fun point and click adventure with a big pair of Tit- Warhound Titans. Deny was playing Greater Daemon meet and greet while Michael was having some difficulty convincing his Daemons to actually join in. I had fun providing the bulk of the bodies and claimed the head of M. Calgar. John actually set an example to his two team mates on how to play by not only holding one flank single-handed, but also claiming an objective! Jason's poor Baneblade was plagued by a spate of Gun Crew Shaken results meaning it only fired it's big dirty Super Battle Cannon the once. Bennett's Dreadnoughts and tanks weren't having much luck on the flank but then they were wrestling against something like eight assorted Greater Daemons and Daemon Princes. Random thoughts: Stupid Leman Russ Punisher! Killing my Lootas, Boyz and whatever else it saw. How do two Trukks that hurtle forward at full speed, get shot, then end up going backwards to explode? (Maybe they're Italian Trukks, hur hur hur... sigh). My BattleWagon ran John's Land Raider over

Overall i enjoyed the game, it was fun never really played in a big 40k game like that before.
It was very scary seeing what the evil forces fielded two titans, well over 10 greater daemons and daemon princes, one of which was the forge world blood thirster who just happens to be toughness 8 !
While the good guys had the numbers they proved little use against the titans who dominated the battle field with their range, fire power and movement, they pretty much picked a squad/unit a turn and that unit died lol. The daemons proved tough opponents but i think the good guys gave nearly as good as they got, same would apply to the orcs.
John did managed to hold a whole flank pretty much on his own but then again he didn't have the two titans bearing down on him most turn and the many many huge daemons, but a good job none the less holding his chosen objective.
I wasn't very impressed with the imperial baneblade as its guns were silenced far to easily and it didn't seem to impact the game as much as the titans.
I was quite amazed considering what we were facing that the game came so close to being a draw, one more failed save on a daemon prince and it would have been a draw.
I think next time i will bring some heavier stuff to the game as 7 tactial squads was abit overkill on the troops, although it was cool fielding 70 marines 30 assault marines and 20 terminators. I think i will invest in some super heavies of my own or atleast take alot more lascannons and actually try to hurt the titans rather than trying to ignore them and kill other stuff.
Thanks to all who took part and look forward to the next big game !
